If You Can't Handle the Heat...
2-2 1/2 lb. raw, shelled, de-veined shrimp; raw shrimp are blue or grey, not pink. Get Tiger Shrimp if you can find them. Oh, and that “vein”? It’s not actually a vein. It’s poop. Don’t let the Euphamism Police trick you.
1 Tbsp. minced or pressed garlic
1/4 c. minced fresh ginger
1/4 c. hot chili garlic paste
1/2 c. sweet chili garlic paste
1 c. honey
1 c. fresh-squeezed lime juice
1/2 tsp. Kosher salt
1 tsp. freshly-ground black pepper
1 c. canola oil
Rinse shrimp in cold water and place in a large Ziploc bag. Combine garlic, ginger, both chili pastes, honey, lime juice, salt, pepper, and oil in a large bowl. Whisk thoroughly. Set aside 1 c. of the marinade. Pour remaining mixture over shrimp and refrigerate for at least 24 hours and up to 48 hours. When ready to cook, thread shrimp onto skewers.
If using bamboo skewers, soak in water for at least 1/2 hour before skewering anything. Preheat outdoor grill. This really should be done outside because they get VERY smokey! When grill is hot, reduce heat to low and quickly place all skewers over the heat. Brush with reserved marinade. When they’ve cooked for 1 1/2-2 minutes, quickly flip them over and brush or drizzle with remaining marinade. Cook for another 1 1/2-2 minutes, or until opaque and pink.
Shrimp cook extremely quickly and you don’t want to overcook them, but these are pretty forgiving if you do. Remove skewers from grill and remove shrimp from skewers. Pile them on a big ol’ platter, drizzle with any remaining reserved marinade, and squeeze the juice from a lime all over them.
Toss to distribute the deliciousness.
I definitely have to say again that this recipe comes from ourbestbites.com and they also have suggested side dishes on their site with recipes for coconut rice and other great sides for this dish. Another thing they have is a few more pictures to help you along with this recipe. So thanks for the recipe ourbestbites.com!

Award Show Season
I love award season. I love the red carpet, picking my own winners, and seeing all the stars in one place. Judging everyone's dress picks is one of my favorite things to do. I meant to write this right after seeing the Golden Globes but school has really bogged me down so I am finally do it a week later. So let's talk my favorite gown at the Golden Globes. Surprisingly, because I usually agree with the best and worst dressed lists that make their way around the internet, my favorite was one that ended up on EW's worst dressed list! In fact they gave her a D-! I really couldn't care less though because for me Lea Michele took the cake. I think she looked daringly sexy in her metallic Marchesa gown.
This might earn me some criticism but I thought it was very bold and daring of her and despite her need to overpose, she wore it extremely well. I definitely think Freida Pinto shouldn't have been considered dressed better than Lea, her strapless, balloon like gown didn't flatter her figure at all. Emma Stone of course brought it, like she always does, I am always impressed with her. And Sarah Michelle Gellar's tye dye dress not so bad either in my book. Definitely not her best, but not the worst like most are saying.
I like when stars shake up the red carpet with different looks and think a lot of the criticized stars were the ones that took some risks this year. Tell me what you think about the Golden Globes red carpet style and I will be doing another red carpet breakdown for the SAG awards!
Til next time,
Christine

I'm seeing things....
I have two confessions. I am a Glee fan. I am a bigger Buffy fan. If you don't know who Buffy is, go to the store, now, and buy all seven seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, seriously. I have been watching Buffy since I was 7 years old and it has now been off the air for almost 9 years. It really breaks my heart to say that. I am always watching reruns and I see everything that a Buffy cast member is in. One Buffy cast member stole my heart though, James Marsters. If you don't know him, which most likely if you don't know Buffy you won't know him, go on Google, look him up and be prepared to waste a couple hours starting at him. At least in my opinion. He has always been on the top of my list and as he gets older he still holds his title with me. :) He has always had signature looks that belonged to his character Spike but every once in awhile I can see it in another actor. For as long as I can remember I have dissected acting performances and facial expressions because I always wanted to be an actress, so I watched a ton of tv and always judged the actors performances. I'm very observant which an actor really has to be.
So when I was watching new videos on YouTube today and a full Glee performance from tonight's episode was up I watched it immediately. I love getting sneak peeks especially when Glee has been off the air with new episodes since before Christmas. It was a full performance of the mash up of "Moves Like Jagger" and "Jumpin' Jack Flash." I'm not a huge fan of either song but it was Glee and Artie was singing so I was definitely down to watch. Now if you know Glee, you know that Matthew Morrison plays Will Schuester, and I don't know about you other Gleeks but I am not a Will Schuester fan. I used to be because he quite good looking but his character seemed to get a little prudish and I lost my taste for him. However, the actor himself is a little more cocky and has more attitude which I found out thanks to Chelsea Handler interviewing him. I am a Matthew Morrison fan, not a Will Schuester fan.
In this video though, he won me over again. I think it was because he kept making a Spike face! The whole video made me think of Spike, aka James Marsters character in Buffy, and it made me like him again. It might not last because if he goes back to his silly, prudish ways, I'll quickly realize he is not like the bad ass Spike character I love so much. He kept doing this puckered lip thing that always made me swoon when Spike did it.
So I am on the fence about Will Schuester and this post was really just for me to point out Spike still influences TV with his oh so gorgeous and ever lasting facial expressions. I am including two picture of both of the aforementioned hotties and a link to the video. However, please if you haven't seen Glee or Buffy check it out, because you are really missing out, I beg of you. :)

I Gotta Stop Buying Lush
I've decided that with all the Lush stuff I have, I should probably take a break from buying it for a while. It seems that every time I get even a little close to the mall that had a Lush store I go in and spend at least $20 every time. That would be fine if I actually used the stuff or had time for a bath. The shower stuff and the soap goes to good use but all the bath bombs and bubble bars I have are just kind of sitting there.
Last summer when my boyfriend and I went to the shore for a week we turned our air off in the middle of July to save some money since no one would be in the apartment anyways. However, I totally forgot about my Lush stash and all of it melted! After that I was convinced I needed to rebuild my stash and for some reason, no one talked sense into me. Needless to say, I have a decent amount again and I really think it is time to use it up and then buy only when I absolutely need something like soap.
I will be posting a video of my lush stash and as I use it up I will put reviews here! Hope you guys enjoy some Lush reviews because there will be lots! And until I use everything up, no more Lush for me! Subscribe to my channel for the stash video!

Expanding My Shoe Collection!
So between my dog eating a lot of my shoes or just regular wear and tear my shoe collection has taken a total hit! I used to think I had so many and now with having to throw so many out, I'm devastated when I actually struggle to find a pair of shoes to wear in the morning.
When I saw Steve Madden having a 50% off sale I immediately jumped on it. How could I not? Steve Madden is my favorite shoe designer and I am so excited to be getting my first pair of ShoeMint shoes for my birthday next month! So today I am sharing with you the two pairs I picked out. I actually picked out four, one gorgeous pair of blush heels that turned out to be sold out, and my favorite of the four was a leopard wedge bootie that also turned out to be sold out. :( I was so sad when they sent me that e-mail but still glad I got sent these two.
The first pair is called Wildd, and they are strictly for summer. They are a white wedge sandal with a gorgeous flower design on them. I actually have these in another color with zippers on the straps and a cork wedge so I know they fit well and are super comfortable.
The second pair is a cute cuddly boot and that one is called Bravvvo. I like how Steve Madden always adds extra letters to his shoe names! I snatched these up because I could totally picture myself wearing a oversized sweater, Victoria's Secret sweat shorts and these at the shore this summer. I absolutely had to have them! They are so soft and warm on the instead. I am always super cold, mainly because my feet are always freezing, but I don't see that being a problem in these!
Share with me your shoe collection! Post your blogs! I love reading about shoes!
